What You'll Find Here:
This guidebook is a comprehensive resource created by and for the Kenyan community in Mexico, designed to help you navigate life in your new home with ease and confidence. Whether you're looking for tips on immigration processes, finding housing, understanding local culture, or connecting with fellow Kenyans, this guidebook is here to support you every step of the way.
The guidebook is not just a collection of information—it’s a reflection of our shared experiences, challenges, and triumphs as a community. Its value lies in the contributions from members like you, who generously share insights, tips, and advice to make life easier for others.
We encourage all members to contribute to this living document. Whether you’ve discovered a helpful service, overcome a unique challenge, or have tips for settling in, your knowledge can make a difference for another Kenyan in need. Together, we can ensure that this guidebook continues to grow as an invaluable tool for our community.
In 2015, a redefined Kenya Diaspora Policy document was launched, making it public for the first time in Kenya´s history. The Kenya Diaspora Policy was meant to mainstream and empower Kenyans abroad to effectively make significant contributions to Kenya’s transformation agenda. In line with the Government´s Bottom-Up Economic Agenda (BETA) which seeks to protect, engage, empower, and prosper the Kenyan Diaspora, a review of the Kenya Diaspora Policy is currently underway by the State Department for Diaspora Affairs.
Connecting with other Kenyan diaspora groups worldwide can strengthen our global community. Here, you'll find links to similar organizations in North America, Europe, and other regions. These groups provide opportunities for networking, collaboration, and shared initiatives.
In addition to these key resources, you’ll also find links to embassy contacts, legal advice, scholarships, and job opportunities to help you navigate life in Mexico and beyond.
At KDAM, we’re committed to empowering our members with the information and tools they need to thrive. If you have suggestions for additional resources, feel free to contact us at kdam.connect@gmail.com.
